IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is the Summary Plan Description (“SPD”) of the plan of benefits (“the Plan”) of the Building Service 32BJ Thomas Shortman Training, Scholarship and Safety Fund (“the Fund”). Your rights to benefits can only be determined by this SPD, as interpreted by official action of the Board of Trustees (“the Board”). You should refer to this booklet when you need information about your Plan benefits. In addition, the Board reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to amend the Plan at any time. |

In general, the Shortman Fund covers members working in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or Staten Island; members working in New Jersey; members working on Long Island; members working for Hudson Valley cleaning contractors including those who have locations in the Bronx; members working for Co-op City in the Bronx; and Window cleaners in the NYC area.
